WEST MILFORD — Music At The Mission, the West Milford based all volunteer folk and blues music venue has announced its sponsorship of a scholarship fund to honor the life and memory of beloved friend and volunteer Todd Gannon. Music At The Mission has been bringing some of the most renowned and talented musicians nationally and internationally to area residents since 2002. In its brief but meteoric tenure, Music At the Mission has played host to such notables as John Gorka, Elyza Gilkyson, Chris Smither, Vance Gilbert, The Strawbs, The Kennedy’s, and more. The Open Mic, hosted monthly to foster the creative needs of local musicians, has attracted some of the finest in amateur and professional talent in the region with a non-performing audience that typically numbers around 150. Music At The Mission relies heavily on the dedicated efforts of its team of volunteers. But recently, this tight-knit team suffered a painful loss with the passing of one of their most beloved friends and loyal volunteers, Todd Gannon. After suffering a longstanding battle with Fanconi anemia, Todd Gannon died on March 18. He is fondly remembered by his friends as a talented musician who gave tirelessly of his time and energy in support of Music At The Mission. To honor the life of Todd Gannon, a West Milford High School graduate, Music At The Mission has announced that is donating the Todd Gannon Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a senior from West Milford High School who has demonstrated an interest in pursuing music, show production or theater arts as a profession. Music At The Mission is accepting donations from anyone interested in donating to this fund.
