RINGWOOD NJBGs Second Saturday Gardeners will meet each month this summer – on the second Saturday, of course – to learn gardening skills while also helping the Botanical Garden look its best. This months session will be on Saturday, June 9, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Our weekly Wednesday garden sessions have long been very popular, said Deb Bryant, vice president of volunteers at NJBG, but many people have asked for weekend workshops as well. Its great fun – youll learn all kinds of tips and tricks from experienced gardeners, spend the afternoon in beautiful surroundings, and have the satisfaction of bringing pleasure to many other people as well.
Meet at the Carriage House Visitor Center at 1 p.m. NJBG will provide water, gloves and tools, but bring your own if you prefer. Steady rain cancels.
This program is free, but there is a $5 per car state parking fee on summer weekends.
We have many wonderful volunteer opportunities at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden, said NJBG President Frank Dyer, and would love to have you join us. Theres our wide range of specialized gardens to help develop, tours and walks to lead, and special projects like our Plant Sale, summer concert series, Harvest Fest and Holiday Open House, which always require many hands. Come meet your fellow garden fans and see how you can help make the Botanical Garden bloom while having a wonderful time.
The New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the year. Admission to the garden is always free. Parking is $5 per car on summer weekends and holidays, but weekday parking is free.
NJBG/Skylands is located on Morris Road in Ringwood. For an event schedule, membership brochure, directions or more information, call 973-962-9534 or visit www.njbg.org.
