Oak Ridge - To celebrate the power and beauty of poetry, the Jefferson Public Library is encouraging all library visitors to “Pick a Poem” during April, “National Poetry Month.” “Poetry is powerful!” the library said in announcing the April activity. “It can inspire, entertain, and educate.” New York City’s Poet’s House reports a resurgence of interest in poetry nationwide. More poetry books are being published than at any time in U.S. history, and more people are reading poetry and attending readings across the country. A basket of poems will be available throughout April at the circulation desk. All library users are invited to e “Pick a Poem” and “reconnect with the beauty of the written word.” The library is located at 1031 Weldon Road in Oak Ridge.
