Public Gallery exhibit features ‘Altered Light'

    Newton - The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council announces the reopening of their Public Gallery with a photography exhibit titled “Altered Light” running Sept. 20 - Nov. 15. The Public Gallery is located in the Judicial Center 43-47 High St. in Newton on the second floor. The exhibit includes work from local accomplished artists including Jeff Smith, Jen Waldron, Susan G. Hammond, Leslie L. Phiefer, Don Freeman, Robert Heimall, Kay Money, Thomas P.Davis, and Davis Magyar. Some new emerging artists include David S. Wiley, Michael LaMorte, Richard Slaughter and Charlene DeMott. There is a diverse range of styles on exhibit from traditional landscapes and sunsets to digitally altered images of landscapes and carousel horses that look like watercolor paintings and self portraits done in overlay of images. The gallery is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. For more information, contact the Council office at 973-383-0027
