WEST MILFORD For the third year running, the West Milford Education Foundation will host A Taste of the Highlands. This unique dining experience gives you a chance to sample a wide assortment of specialties from many local restaurants, caterers and shops. Held at the lake front lodge on Camp Ocawasin, this year’s Taste of the Highlands is slated for May 18 at 6:30 p.m. This the major fund raiser for the Education Foundation, a non-profit corporation whose mission is to focus money, resources and community private sector commitment to benefit our public school children. In addition to raising funds for the Foundation from ticket sales, many local businesses purchase ads in the program guide which is available at the dinner. The program also lists the contributing food establishments providing a handy dining out guide for future reference. New this year is a silent auction of art created by very talented West Milford High School students. The items will be displayed in the lodge and bids will be accepted throughout the evening. This is a great opportunity to take home some special artwork and show your support for the students. Students from the high school Interact Club help serve food and bus tables. The assistance provided by the students is invaluable and gives them a chance to get involved with the community. In the past, the event has sold out. This year’s tickets are $40 and are available by calling Pat Maglio at 973-697-3606 x515.
