Newton Seniors, ages 50 and over, are invited to SCCC for Senior Day, Friday, June 8, for a day of informative and fun workshops. Sussex County Historian William Truran will be the keynote speaker, Jonathan Wood will present The Raptor Project, and there will be local exhibitors. The day will begin with registration and a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., during which Truran will speak. Attendees may then participate in two sessions of workshops in the morning, incuding: Watercolor Painting, Computer Basics, Golf for Beginners, Belly Dancing for Seniors, Basic Woodworking and County Western Line Dancing. The day will conclude with lunch and a presentation by Jonathan Wood, professional wildlife educator. The Raptor Project is an array of eagles, hawks, falcons and owls. Master Falconer and Wildlife Rehabilitator Wood, of the Catskill Mountains, has assembled a broad traveling collection of feathered predators. The fee for is $15 to pre-registrants and $20 to registrants the day of the event.d.
