The Sheatles, the all-female Beatles tribute band, to appear in Wantage June 12 WANTAGE — The all-female Beatles tribute band, The Sheatles, will appear at the the Beemerville Firehouse in Wantage for a “Meet the Sheatles — Summer Kick Off Party” on Saturday, June 12 from 8 to 12 midnight. Although the group was formed a few months ago, members are a group of seasoned professional musicians who have opened for The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers, Cheap Trick, The Spice Girls and more. Members have also appeared on MTV, VHI, The Tonight Show and other television programs. “This is a band that captures puts a ‘new twist’ to the timeless classics of the Beatles,” said Kerri Parrott-Freda, a Sheatles member, who is also a social studies at Sussex Middle School, where she directs the school’s spring musical. “Female tribute bands are becoming increasingly popular and through much research, I have determined that The Sheatles are the only all- female band tribute to the ‘Fab Four’ in the U.S.” Parrott-Freda said the group’s drummer was given autographed sticks by Ringo Starr and was dubbed “a female Ringo” by Ringo’s former record producer Mark Hudson. The Sheatles’ show includes songs from the Beatles’ early days to the final songs that appeared on the albums “Let it Be” and “Abbey Road.” The group plays its greatests hits and its “more obscure songs for the true “Beatle- maniac.” The group even mimics the clothing of The Beatles with grey suit- type dresses for the early period and Sgt. Pepper jackets for the later Beatle hits. Tickets are $10 and the event is open to all ages.
