LAFAYETTE—In celebration of the works of the great American artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, the Lamplighters of Lafayette shop will host a "Tribute To Tiffany Celebration" May 7 through 17, featuring Meyda Tiffany lamps and lighting fixtures, which reproduce of some of Tiffany's greatest and best-loved designs. Hundreds of Tiffany-style lamps and lighting fixtures will be on display throughout the showroom and in a special "Gallery-on-Wheels" trailer truck parked in the adjacent parking lot. Many of the lamps were created with the original molds, tools, and artisanship that were developed a hundred years ago. Born in 1848, Tiffany was the son of Charles Tiffany, founder of the world-famous Tiffany Jewelers in New York City. Today, his lamps are considered masterpieces, and fetch up to a million dollars at auction. Lamplighters of Lafayette is located at 156 Rte. 15 in Lafayette. For more information, call 973-383-5513.
