Springfest welcomes the season

Augusta — It was the place to be to get away from this long winter and the cold weather. Inside the conservatory, at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, visitors walked into instant spring. The annual flower show was held March 17 through 20. The flowers, colors, trickling waterfalls and locals catching up with each other gave way to the aroma coming from the Salvage Yard Cafe, presented by Krave of Newton. There, visitors could sit back and enjoy a fresh raspberry lemonade as they lunched among the artwork. As if that wasn’t enough, the program included a full schedule of lectures in the lecture hall, educational exhibitors, commercial exhibitors, a hands-on children’s corner and chickens at the Brodhecker Farm exhibit. Lori Day from Space Farms in Wantage taught and entertained the crowds with her knowledge and her animals. Click on the photos tab on the Web site and look for the album entitled Springfest 2011.
