ALPINE — The NJ Section of the Palisades Interstate Park is pleased to offer a nature day camp for children ages 8 to 12. Led by the park’s trail crew, the camp will run for two weeks, weekdays only, from Aug. 13 to 17, and from Aug. 20 to 24. Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will meet at the Alpine Pavilion at the Alpine Boat Basin and Picnic Area (accessible from Palisades Interstate Parkway Exit 2). Register by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10. Registrations are for one week only; children may be able to attend both weeks depending on space availability after the registration deadline.

Campers will experience the many features of the New Jersey Palisades through a series of games, hikes, and activities. Learn outdoor survival skills, seine the Hudson River, take a day hike, explore the hidden nooks of the Palisades, and join the Trail Crew for a family campfire on Friday evenings. This program emphasizes hands-on activities. Children should wear sturdy footwear, clothing suitable for outdoor activities, and bring their own lunches, water bottles, towels, and change of clothes. In case of rain, camp will be held in the Alpine Pavilion.
