Sparta - Sussex County Technical School’s Drama Club will present “The Butler Did It,” a murder/mystery/comedy play by Tim Kelly, at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, in the McNeice Auditorium at the school, located at 105 N. Church Rd. in Sparta. The play is set in Ravenswood Manor on isolated Turkey Island, off the California coast. Miss Maple has invited all of her favorite mystery writers for a pleasant weekend of role-playing games. But Miss Maple has ulterior motives and soon presents an offer no one can refuse. Before the charade can begin, a heinous murder occurs and the writers soon find themselves in the role of detectives as they try to solve the crime. Bungling incompetence, mishaps, mistaken identity and the like ensue as the audience soon finds out that nothing is as it appears to be. The play will be directed by Melissa MacKinnon and Richard Koppenaal. Tickets at $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens will be available at the door.
