NEWTON-The 4th Annual "Taste of Newton" will take place on Monday, Sept. 12, from 7 to 10 p.m., with music by the band "Wry Toast." Rain date is Tuesday, Sept. 13. All Sussex County and surrounding area restaurants are invited to participate in this tasting event. Only 450 tickets will be sold. Participating restaurants are asked to bring samples of their special dishes, including soups, appetizers, main courses or desserts. Last year, hundreds of people attended this showcase of area restaurant menus. Tickets, at $40 each, will be available only in advance at the Spring House in Newton, or at 973-383-1130. The price of admission includes a first drink of either beer, wine or soft drink. Additional beverages may be purchased throughout the evening. Patrons can cap off the evening with coffee, tea and desserts. This event is sponsored by the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce.
