Teacher development course at college

    Newton —Corporate and Community Education of Sussex County Community College will continue their partnership with New Jersey Department of Education as a Professional Development Provider. Throughout the year, Teacher Professional Development workshops are offered for kindergarten through eighth grade math teachers. Teachers will receive six hours of professional development credit for each workshop they attend. Each session is $75 and includes lunch. Upcoming program: Grades K-5 Math and Literature. This workshop will provide hands-on activities stemming from poems, storybooks and interactive projects inspired by new and traditional stories. Several cross-curricular activities will be introduced and a useful bibliography provided. This workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17. Instructor Felicia Arnold is a retired third grade teacher from the Vernon Township school system, with over 30 years of elementary education experience.
