NEWTON — Sussex County Community College (SCCC) in partnership with Tri-State Actors brings The 39 Steps — a mix of Hitchcock and Monty Python equals a fast-paced whodunit — to the Performing Arts Center. Performances are scheduled from Feb. 28 to March 10.
This two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning show is packed with nonstop laughs, more than 150 zany characters (played by a cast of four), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some romance.
In The 39 Steps, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who claims she's a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called The 39 Steps is hot on the man's trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale.
