SUSSEX COUNTY-He was tough. Honest. Fearless. Decisive. Born of humble roots, no one would have guessed that Harry S. Truman would rise to lead America through some of its most difficult times and become one of our greatest and most admired presidents. Dr. Raymond Frey will tell Truman's story at Sussex County Community College through photographs, documents, and personal accounts told to him by the men and women who worked for Truman. Campaign posters, personal letters, and presidential papers will also be on display. The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12 in the Theatre at Sussex County Community College. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased by calling 973-300-2124. Proceeds will benefit the Foundation for Sussex County Community College. Frey is an Associate Professor of History at Centenary College and Adjunct Professor of History at SCCC. He is one of the foremost experts on the Truman Administration in the United States and is an Honorary Fellow of the Truman Library Institute. He has contributed to three books on Truman and is at work on biographies of both Harry Truman and Mrs. Truman. In 2000, Frey wrote a White House briefing document on Mrs. Truman for First Lady Laura Bush. He has been a keynote speaker at the Truman Presidential Library in Independence, Mo. and the Little White House in Key West, Fla.
