Hardyston - The Sussex County YMCA will hold its “Undercover Benefit Concert” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10. Local musicians will perform, including Perfect Angle, a jazz-rock fusion band, folk artist Nina Peterson, and singer and songwriter Denny Tilton and Friends. Proceeds will benefit the local YMCA’s “Strong Kids Campaign,” which provides program support and financial assistance to families and children in the YMCA’s service area. The fund sends children to summer camp, gives memberships to seniors on fixed incomes and provides recreational opportunities to families who don’t have the financial means to join the YMCA. David Carcieri, executive director of the county YMCA, said, “We are delighted to be hosting our first concert, especially since the money raised helps benefit people of all ages right here in our own community.” Perfect Angle’s Joe Steinwand, Leo LaBarge, Ryan Schutz and Lou Slamer are all seasoned veterans from different music backgrounds who have come together to offer a unique sound. They will be debuting songs from their second CD, still in production. “We are so happy to be able to help the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign and present our music to an audience here in Sussex County,” said Steinwand. “Our style of music has a fresh familiar sound that draws you in with uplifting true to life stories.” Also appearing will be long-time local favorite Denny Tilton and Friends. Tilton is an award-winning performer who will present selections from his three top-selling albums, Real Life Stories, Generations and Shoulda Seen the Dream. Nina Peterson, a Byram resident, will open the show. Nina’s latest CD, New York Daydream, features 10 original tunes that document her experiences with family and loved ones. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 concert. Tickets are available at the Sussex County YMCA, located at 15 Wits End Rd., Hardyston, or Lou’s Music Center Lou’s Music Center, 120 Spring Street, Newton.
