Sugar Loaf Plein Air Paintings by the Wallkill River School of art, in pastels, oils, and watercolors, will be on exhibit at the Bertoni Gallery, at 1392 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf, beginning June 28 through August 19. Artists from the school were painting scenes of Sugar Loaf throughout the month of May. The painters’ works portray scenes of Sugar Loaf and the Kurt Seligmann Estate (which is currently the home of the Orange County Citizens Foundation). The exhibition is held as a silent auction. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., or by appointment. A reception will be held on Saturday, June 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a brief presentation about the history of Sugar Loaf, as well as the importance of buying and eating locally grown food around the Sugar Loaf area. Auction winners can pick up their auctioned Sugar Loaf works on Aug. 20, between noon and 6 p.m., or by appointment. For further information, call Bertoni Gallery at 469-0993.
