Jefferson - The U.S. Military Academy Concert Band, considered among the finest of its kind in the world, will give a free concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, in the Jefferson High School Auditorium, 1010 Weldon Rd., in the Oak Ridge section of Jefferson . Captain Treg E. Ancelet will conduct the 43-piece symphonic band. The band’s events annually attract thousands of visitors to West Point to hear new and traditional concert band literature. The band has a history marked with several world-class performances and close associations with renowned composers. Ancelet joined the staff of the U.S. Military Academy Band in March 2005 as deputy commander and associate conductor. Although no seats are reserved, the Jefferson Arts Committee is offering a limited number of free admission tickets for early seating at 6:30 p.m.. Tickets are available at The Old Pine Shop/Awards Worth Winning on Berkshire Valley Road and Gig the Florist in the Route 15 South Plaza. Early-seating tickets are also available at the Jefferson Public Library, the municipal building, and at the recreation office at Camp Jefferson, all on Weldon Road.
