Vernon - Ron Orlando, wolf and wildlife artist will make a personal appearance and display his works at the Cardinal Art Gallery of Vernon from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 11, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12. On display will be original paintings, canvas prints and limited edition prints. Admission is free. A native New Jersey resident, Orlando recently won the Timber Wolf Alliance national poster competition with his wolf painting, “Broken Silence.” The first 50 people to stop by the gallery to meet Orlando will receive a free, signed poster featuring the award-winning painting. Orlando was also the grand prize winner at the “2004 Arts for the Parks” award banquet in Jackson Hole, Wyo. He won the national/international competition with his painting, “Olympic Twins.” He was named Artist of the Year by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association in 1998.
