West Milford. Pack 9 scouts earn COVID-19 Superhero Patch

The scouts of Pack 9 received the Covid-19 Superhero Patch.

They had to complete five hours of community service to benefit people affected by COVID-19 in a variety of ways:

The scouts were able feed all the families of the St. Joseph Food Pantry during Thanksgiving. With so many people losing their jobs due to the pandemic, having a full pantry during Thanksgiving allowed many families to still create a full Thanksgiving meal.

The pack also created and sent holiday cards to the residents in the Milford Manor during the month of December. Many of these residents were unable to see their families during the holidays due to the pandemic. These warm wishes were hopefully something that lifted their spirits during that time.

This prestigious patch was given to Pack 9 by the Northern New Jersey Council, BSA, after completing and documenting the specified hours.

“We are so proud of these scouts for all of their hard work in the West Milford community,” said Tracy Courtney.
