SUSSEX COUNTY-The Bears Youth Running Program had an impressive showing, Jan. 30, at the prestigious Tommy Burns Foundation USATF-New Jersey Youth Indoor Track and Field Meet at the Jersey City Armory. Tim Paziora, of Newton, ran the fastest mile of the day in 5:36 to place fourth in the boys 13-14-year-old division. Cameron Roshler, of Fredon, led the entire race before getting passed in the final 100 yards of the boys 11-12-year-old division and finishing in 5:41. Drew Reinhart, of Stillwater, finished fourth in 6:18. Roshler also won gold in the 11-12-year-old shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 6 inches. Cameron's sister, Kate Roshler, placed fourth in the 9-10-year-old girls mile in 6:40 and fourth in the 400 meters in 1:30. Fredon's Greg Masters placed fourth in both the 200- and 400-meter races in 0:30 and 0:69. The meet concluded when the Bears 4x400 relay team of Cameron Roshler, Paziora, Reinhart, and Masters finished first in 4:49. The Bears return to the Jersey City Armory, Feb. 13, when they hope to improve on their most recent showing.
