SPARTA-Rider University celebrated its 140th commencement on Friday, May 13. Dr. Mordechai Rozanski, president of the university, awarded more than 1,000 undergraduate degrees, graduate degress and professional certifications to students who completed their requirements during the 2004-2005 academic year. Honorary degrees went to: Steven B. Kalafer, an alumnus who is a successful businessman, movie producer and sports team owner. Honorable Anne E. Thompson, a Senior U.S. District Judge. Dec. 2004 and May 2005 recipients include: Amanda Pauline Gregory of Sparta, bachelor of arts in elementary education and fine arts. Jennifer Antoinette Witte of Andover, bachelor of arts in journalism.
