Benjamin R. Van Wyk of Sussex has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2010 semester at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich. Laura Backman of Stockholm has been selected as a peer tutor at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt. Cristina Garafola, the daughter of Lynn and Glenn Garafola of Sparta, and a senior at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., was named a recipient of The Captain Gerald FitzGerald Dale Senior Scholarship. A graduate of Sparta High School, she is a world politics and Chinese major. Era Caterina Murzaku of Sparta was recently awarded a scholarship from the Joseph E. Enright Foundation to pursue a degree in medicine at the UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine.
