Gabay goes to Washington

    WEST MILFORD — A West Milford resident and Eagle Scout has been accepted into the 2006 Presidential Classroom Program for Science and Technology. Jonathan Gabay, senior at Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, will spend a week in Washington D.C. interacting with Washington insiders, including members of congress, presidential appointees, military and businesses leaders and journalists. The Presidential Classroom is a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic organization offering programs in academic and leadership development tailored to high-achieving students Gabay is the president of the senior class and member of Campus Ministry, W.S.J.R. Television Network, Aegis Yearbook and the Science Club. He is also on the varsity Lacrosse team. Gabay is an Eagle Scout and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 114 in West Milford. As a member of Venture Crew 114, he has received his Silver and Ranger Award. In addition, Gabay is president of Northern NJ Boy Scout Council Venture Teen Leader Council. He also serves as is a junior member of West Milford Volunteer Fire Department Macopin Co. Gabay has been accepted to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, which he plans to attend in the fall of 2006. He plans to double major in Aeronautical _ Engineering and Aviation with a minor in helicopters.
