As part of a week-long 250th Anniversary celebration, the First Baptist Church of Sussex held an Open House from 2 to 6 p.m. last Sunday. Historic records, old local photos, quilts and other antique items were on display for visitors to enjoy. “This is really a historical viewing and a wonderful opportunity for people to come out and see our display,” said Jean Styger, event organizer and member of the church since the 1930s. The celebration will continue until Sunday, Nov. 19. “We don’t have any set times for opening during the week, but we would be happy to open up for anyone who is interested in coming out to share in the celebration,” said Styger.
