Newton - Four students from Northwest Christian School in Newton finished first overall for their grade levels in the annual Christian Schools Junior Olympics held on Saturday, May 20, at Newton High School. The students competed in running events, softball, football, shot put and jump rope. The first-place finishers from Northwest Christian were fourth grader Stephen Brinkerhoff, eighth grader Colin McInnis, seventh grader Jonathan Brinkerhoff, and third grader Hannah Huschens. In addition to Northwest Christian, participating schools included Calvary Christian Academy of Warwick, N.Y.; Goshen Christian School of Goshen, N.Y., and Sussex Christian School of Sussex. Northwest Christian School finished second overall in the competition . First place went to Sussex Christian School.
