    Bailey, Alberta, Mickey entered into eternal peace on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, at her home in West Milford. She was 79 years old.

    She was born in Lakeview, South Carolina, the daughter of Edward Jr. and Gladys (Ford) Washington.

    She worked for New York State Division of Developmental Disabilities for 42 years.

    Rather watching her children play or rooting for the Giants, football was her passion. She loved cooking and spending her time entertaining her family and many friends.

    She was a lifelong Baptist and attended Echo Lake Baptist Church. Among the greatest joys of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Alberta is survived by sisters Alvine Rae Leonard, Alvine Mae Washington, Clara Mae Yates (Henry), Patsy Waters and Barbara Jones (Randolph); brothers Edward Charles Washington and Gerome Washington; brothers-in-law Laymond Bailey (Julie) of Atlanta and Roy Carmichaels of Lakeview, S.C., and sisters-in-law Linda “Clarisse” Washington of Lakeview, S.C., and Lillie Maude Jordan of Warner Robins, Ga.; her children: Janet Washington of Wayne, N.J., Al Bernard Reid (Cheri) of Northbrook Heights, Ill., Joyce Washington, Michelle Booker of Macon, Ga., Anthony Bailey of Ramsey, N.J., Adolphus Bailey Jr. (Dennis) of Jacksonville, Fla., William Bailey (Sonya) of Avenel, N.J., Allen Bailey (Joann) of Saint Augustine, Fla., Andrew Bailey of West Milford, N.J., and Amey Bailey (Hanif Brown) of Cedar Knolls, N.J.; granddaughters: Ashley Ramsay, Janelle Agylirah (Michael), Sofia Brown and Arielle Reid; grandsons: Jermaine Washington (Julie), Jerome Washington (Samantha), Timothy Washington, Randy Washington, Anthony Bailey Jr, Athens Bailey, Austin Bailey, Terrell Bailey, Bronx Bailey, Evan Bailey, Ethan Brown, Nathaniel Brown, Michael Brown, Andrew Brown and Christopher Reid; 12 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

    In addition to her parents, Alberta is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Adolphus Bailey, granddaughter Sofia Washington; brothers Billy Washington, Jerry Washington and Evan Washington; sisters Elizabeth Carmichael, Naime Washington and sister-in-law Elizabeth Bailey Sanford.

    Visitation with family and friends as well as services were held Aug. 11 at the Echo Lake Baptist Church in West Milford.Pastor Jeff Riley officiated.

    In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America on her behalf.

    Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Richards Funeral Home, West Milford, N.J.
