Bernard “Chic” J. McCaffrey IV passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was 59.
Beloved husband of Nancy (Butera) McCaffrey and son of Edith (Wigley) McCaffrey and the late Bernard J. McCaffrey III, he was a resident of Hewitt for 54 years.
Mr. McCaffrey was employed as an assistant store manager for Shop Rite in Little Falls. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and West Milford Fire Co. #1. He played baseball and softball in West Milford and was an avid golfer with the Black Bear Monday Night League in Franklin.
In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are son Ryan Joseph McCaffrey, daughter Erin Lynn McCaffrey, brother Tim McCaffrey and his wife, Penny, sisters Lisa Ann Picado and her husband, Bert, and Alison McCaffrey, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Mass will be held on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 1911 Union Valley Road, Hewitt. Interment will follow at Cedar Heights Cemetery.
