Douglas E. Wilhelmy, the beloved husband of Michele,nee Bocchiaro, died on Monday, April 23, 2012. He was 67.
Born in Jersey City the son of Eudore J. Jr. and Catherine (Heffner) Wilhelmy, he lived in Kearny coming to West Milford 35 years ago. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Wilhelmy had been an export logistics manager with Sea-Land, Newark.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters Darlene Schuch and her husband Roger of West Milford, Melissa Stapleton and her husband Thomas of Highland Lakes, Jennifer Tully and her husband Andrew of Stockholm and Danielle U'Glay and her husband Scott of Highland Lakes, grandchildren Paul, Emily, Nicolas, Shane, Jonathan and Kyle. He was a special grandpa to Jaslyn, Jasmine, Trinity, Brenna and Cody.
His parents and a brother, Ronald Wilhelmy (2009), predeceased him.
Visiting will be on Thursday, April 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cedar Heights Cemetery, West Milford.
