Dr. Robert E. Sulzbach, DDS, died on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was 78.
Born in Glendale, N.Y., he was the son of the late Robert A. and Jeanette (Mc Guigan) Sulzbach. He was the beloved husband of Eileen (Bayer) Sulzbach, with whom he would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in June.
He attended Brooklyn Prep, received his bachelor of science degree from Georgetown University and his DDS from Seton Hall College of Medicine and Dentistry. He was a captain in the National Guard and a lifetime member of the NRA.
After spending his childhood summers at Lindy Lake, Bob eventually built his home in West Milford where he raised his family and practiced dentistry for 47 years in his home office.
Bob was a gardener, avid reader and sportsman but his true passion was his family and friends, his dogs and his time spent at his farm in Walton, N.Y. He loved his many hunting adventures and travelling with his wife.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Robert H. and his wife, Rachel, of Bangor, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Eileen P. Dammer and her husband, Harry, of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, Beth Ann Kabous and her husband, Elias, of Franklin Lakes, and Jennifer Smith and her husband, E.J., of Wayne; one sister, Roberta Radler of Glassboro, and four grandchildren, Katherine and Allison Dammer, Kayla Kabous and Trevor Smith.
He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanette Sutton.
Friends called at Richards Funeral Home, West Milford on Wednesday, May 3. The funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 4, at St. Joseph’s Church, 454 Germantown Road, West Milford at 11 a.m. Disposition will be private.
