Edna Freeland

    Edna Freeland, nee Rude, widow of Leslie who predeceased her in 1995, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at home. She was 90.

    Born in Newfoundland the daughter of G. Waldo and Emma J. (Winterbottom) Rude, she was a lifelong resident of West Milford. A member of West Milford Ambulance Corp and American Legion, Frank M. Sell Post # 289, Mrs. Freeland had been a registered nurse at Franklin Hospital before retiring.

    Surviving are sons Leslie D. Freeland, Jr. and his wife Alison of West Milford, George W. Freeland and his wife Patricia of Wantage, Edward W. Freeland of Virginia, a daughter Gale Hutnyan and her husband James of Gilbertsville, Pa., a daughter-in-law Karen Freeland of Parsippany, 16 grandchildren: Michele Walker, Rachel McDonald and Keith Freeland, Christopher Freeland and Pamela Tietz, Bridget, Bryan, Abigale, Samuel, Shelby, Hyla, Hunter, Jacob and Kendall Freeland, Julianne and Stephen Hutnyan and 14 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, a sister Emma Schwaeble predeceased her.

    Visiting was held at Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. A funeral service was held at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012. Interment followed at Newfoundland Cemetery in Newfoundland.
