Gail (Ciarlo) Sabaliauskas, 65, of Butler, passed away on April 12, comforted by her family.
Gail was born on Dec. 11, 1953 in Paterson, of Angelo and Alice (Phillips) Ciarlo.
After graduating from Kennedy High School, she met and married her soul mate John Sabaliauskas, on April 1, 1978, and moved to Butler in 1983.
Gail was part of a large Italian and Irish-German family and made friends wherever she went.
She found sanctuary close to home and comfort in her routines, spending time each summer with her family and friends in Cape May.
She worked as an independent tax preparer at Baker Street Taxes, and was a steadfast advocate for women’s equality in the workforce.
Gail is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, John, her sisters, Carmen Melly and Karen McDaniel, her children, Dana Worthing and husband Evan Worthing, Nicole Luciano and husband Daniel Luciano, and Giavanna Melly, her nephew Shane Melly, a boatload of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her three grandchildren, Vaughn Worthing, Oliver Worthing, and Frida Luciano.
Her wishes were to have a private service for her immediate family, with a separate memorial to be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
