Helen I. Cox, widow of Richard A., who died in 1989, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014. She was 75.
Born in Ringwood, the daughter of Thomas, Sr. and Gertrude Mae (Miller) Vreeland, she lived in West Milford before moving to Bloomingdale three years ago.
A member of the West Milford Golden Agers, Greenwood Forest Ladies Auxiliary and Red Hat Society, she was a retired cafeteria worker for West Milford Board of Education.
Helen is survived by three sons, Richard and his wife Beverly, Henry and his wife Gina, Roger and his wife Mary Jane, two daughters, Joanne Struble and Cindy Van Luvender and her husband Kenneth, three brothers, Thomas H. Vreeland, Jr. and his wife Jackie, Robert Vreeland and his wife Charlotte and Kenneth Vreeland and his wife Ann. Her grandchildren Joseph, Joshua and Justin Cox, Daniel, Jonathon and Meagan Cox, Emily and Jeffrey Cox and Danielle Van Luvender also survive her.
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers Roger B. and Clarence and a sister, Dorothy M. Vreeland.
Visiting will be held at Richards Funeral Home, West Milford, on Friday, Sept. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m., with a funeral service at 4:30 p.m. Final disposition will be private.
