Judith F. Henry, 71, of West Milford, NJ passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, after a brief illness. She was at peace, surrounded by family and friends. Judy was born in St. Louis, Missouri and spent her childhood years in Roseville, MI before moving to Upper Saddle River, NJ and attended Ramsey High School. She married Donald B. Henry in 1966 and moved to West Milford.
After attending Paterson Commercial College, Judy worked for AER Corporation in Ramsey, NJ as the Corporate Expeditor for several years.
She was also a Sunday school teacher at Calvary Bible Church in West Milford for many years, a member of the West Milford League of Women Voters, and spent 36 years as a volunteer on the West Milford First Aid Squad.
As an EMT, she administered first aid to countless individuals, helped deliver two babies, and assisted in 9/11 rescue efforts.
After moving to West Milford, she worked for a local dentist as an assistant, followed by employment with the Ringwood Board of Education and spent summers as a nurse at Camp Hope serving the children of Passaic County. Judy was dedicated to her family, friends, and her community.
In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with her family, vacationing at the beach, camping, reading, crocheting, making crafts, floating in her pool, shopping, listening to music, her dog “Maggie”, and watching her favorite TV shows and movies.
Judy is survived by her sister Lynda Kazmark and brother-in-law John Kazmark of Belle Mead, NJ, half-brother Harold Wayne Jones Jr. of Freemansburg, PA, stepmother Angie Jones of Larksville, PA, daughter Kimberly Gibson and husband Patrick Gibson of Glenwood, NJ, son Mark D. Henry and wife Deborah Henry of East Hanover, NJ, and son David Henry and companion Sonia Pereira, of Riverdale, NJ, three grandsons, Caleb, Cole, and Caden Gibson, and three granddaughters, Kiley Gibson, Ameila and Arianna Henry.
She is predeceased by her long-time companion and fiancé Dennis Dougherty, mother Pauline Jones, and father Harold Jones.
A Memorial Service will be held for Judy at Richard’s Funeral Home in West Milford, NJ on Feb. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the West Milford First Aid Squad (PO Box 387, West Milford, NJ 07480), 973-728-8989.
