James Cornelius Farley, of West Milford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Saturday, Nov. 18. He was 88.
Jim was born in Manhattan to John Joseph and Katherine (Kitty O’Sullivan) Farley and raised in the Bronx, a member of Our Lady of Refuge Parish. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Mainz, Germany, with the 2nd Armor Division, 66 M Tank BN, Company D, Combat Command C. from 1950-52 during the Korean War. Following his years of military service, he pursued his passion of photography and worked for Eastman Kodak Company until his retirement in 1988.
In 1959, Jim met and fell in love with Ann Patrice, his wife of 57 years, while both working at Eastman Kodak. He lived with his wife and two daughters in Valley Stream, N.Y., until 1974 when they moved to West Milford.
He spent his retirement traveling the world with his wife, going to car shows with his nephews, and enjoying antiquing and flea markets. He was also an avid reader and proud Irish-American. He was a parishioner of St. Josephs Parish and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
A captivating storyteller, Jim’s friendly, outgoing manner and sense of humor left a lasting impression on those who knew him. A devout father, Jim lived his whole life for his family, a legacy that will be passed on to his grandchildren through his children. He is survived by his wife, Ann Patrice (nee Cunneen); two loving daughters, Maureen Delanoy and husband John of Oak Ridge, N.J.; Terry Anne Farley of West Milford. He was the proud grandfather of three grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Brian, Meghan, and Sean Delanoy. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-In-Law.
The last remaining member of his Farley generation, he was pre-deceased by his father, John Joseph Sr.; his mother, Katherine; and his siblings, John Joseph Jr. , Bernard Stephen, and Catherine “Irene” Strafford.

Visitation took place at Richard Funeral home in West MIlford and the funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Church on Germantown road in West Milford. Burial tookk place in the church's cemetery.
