James J. Selleck, Sr., of West Milford, died on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. He was 78.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late George F. and Catherine V. (Mullin) Selleck. He was a resident of West Milford for the past 10 years, moving here from Brooklyn. Before retirement, Mr. Selleck was employed as a mounted patrolman by the City of New York Police Department and was a member of the New York City PBA.
Surviving are one son, James J. Jr., of Staten Island, N.Y., two daughters, Susan S. McGuire of Wyckoff and Elizabeth L. Selleck of Cresskill, two sisters, Harriet Johnson of Staten Island, N.Y., and Margaret Casale of Secaucus, four granddaughters, Katherine and Elizabeth McGuire and Julia and Gianna Selleck.
Visiting was held at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, on Sunday, Nov. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral liturgy was held on Monday, Nov. 4, at St. Christopher’s Church, 130 Midland Ave. Staten Island with interment at Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island.
