    John F. Carbone, 74 years, of Oak Ridge, N.J., passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
    He was born on Jan. 16, 1944 in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Dora (nee Zirpolo) and the late Philip Carbone.
    John proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an Engineman Petty Officer 3rd Class from January 1961 to January 1965 on the USS Salvager (ARS D-3) and the USS Vulcan (AR-5) supporting the Cuban Missile Crisis.
    He married Marion E. (nee Stenkjar) in 1967 and resided in Brooklyn, where they started their family in 1970. The family moved in 1974 to Oak Ridge, where they resided until his passing.
    In September 2017 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
    John was a Service Technician employed with the New York Telephone Company from 1970-1980; New Jersey Bell from 1980 to 1984; AT&T from 1984 to 1996; Lucent Technologies from 1996 to 2000; and Avaya from 2000 to 2008.
    He loved to spend time outdoors with friends and family, skiing, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He will best be remembered for his laughter, his smile, his wit, and his mischief, making shenanigans.
    He was predeceased by his loving parents, Dora and Philip Carbone and his dear brother Philip Carbone.
    John is survived by his beloved wife Marion, his cherished children Lisa M. Carbone, John P. Carbone, and Wendy A. McDonald and her husband Daniel J.; his loving siblings Jean Brennan, Amy Lanzano, and Robert Carbone, as well as several nieces and nephews.
    Final disposition of John’s cremated remains will take place cryptside on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11am at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Oak Ridge, New Jersey, 07438.
