Leigh M. Weiss

    Leigh M. Weiss of West Milford, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020. He was 66 years of age.

    He was born on Dec. 27, 1953, in Newark, New Jersey,the son of Clara (nee Schaffer) and Daniel Weiss.

    Leigh married Therese (nee Bergen) in 2006 and resided in West Milford, New Jersey.

    Leigh graduated from Livingston High School and attended William Paterson College for two years. He became an EMT in 1975, an American Heart Association CPR Instructor in 1980, a Certified Phlebotomist and EKG Technician in 1985, a Pharmacy Technician in 1990, and a Certified Assisted Living Administrator (CALA) in 2005.

    From 1982 to 1992, Leigh owned and operated Weiss Printers, a quick print shop, in Totowa, N.J.

    Leigh has worked as an EMT for the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority in both part-time and full-time capacity from June 1992 to March 2020. He worked many events at the racetrack and the Brendan Byrne, Continental and Izod Arenas, as well as Giant Stadium and MetLife Stadium, working concerts and football, soccer, basketball and hockey games.

    He was a part-time EMT at Adamo Medical/Lifestar Response and was promoted to training coordinator teaching CPR to staff members of the nursing home services.

    Leigh was the Director of Marketing/Customer Services at Pulse Medical Transportation, Inc., and was responsible for the marketing and customer service for more than 28 nursing homes and five major hospital accounts along with training staff and conducted CPR instruction for nursing home staff.

    Leigh started his own company, CPR Instruction by Lee, teaching CPR to the nursing home industry.

    Leigh served on the Livingston First Aid Squad from 1975-1995 and was elected president and captain.

    He will best be remembered for his quick wit, great smile and as a stand-up guy. He loved his family, was always a gentleman and was a great friend to many.

    In his spare time Leigh enjoyed playing golf, traveling and finding great restaurants.

    Leigh was predeceased by his parents Clara and Daniel Weiss. He is survived by his beloved wife Therese; his two stepsons Matthew and Christopher Musto; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Josephine and Joseph Bergen; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Cathy and Joe Picarelli; and his nephew John Picarelli.

    The family received visitors and held Moments of Reflection on Jan. 2 at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 La Rue Road, Newfoundland, N.J.
