Louis E. Riva died on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012. He was 89.
Born in Yonkers, N.Y. the son of Modesto and Antoinette Riva, he lived in the Bronx before moving to Yorktown Heights 26 years ago. Mr. Riva was a Marine Veteran of World War II, a member of Marine Corp League, Putnam County Detachment #242, he saw combat in Iwo Jima, Japan in 1945.
His wife Ann, nee Gioielli, his son Kenneth Riva of West Milford, his daughters Linda Vissat of Massachusetts and Mary Ellen Forneris of Virginia, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive him.
Visiting will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral liturgy is set for Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Joseph's Church, West Milford at 11:30 a.m. Final disposition will be private.
