Marion C. Banta

Marion C. Banta, nee Cella, of Central Valley, N.Y. and formerly of Waldwick, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was 83. Daughter of the late Carlo D. and Marion (nee Bradicich) Cella, she was born Nov. 16, 1928 in Paterson.

Marion graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1947 then worked as a Buyer for Marihews of Ridgewood until she married Skip when he returned from Korea in 1953. They settled in Waldwick, where they raised their seven children. Marion returned to the workforce in 1977 as a sales associate for Macy's in Paramus.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene (Skip) of Central Valley, N.Y., her seven children: Carla Karcher and her husband Mike of Johnstown, Pa., Eugene Banta and his wife Janice of Fair Lawn, Suzanne Cottrell and her husband Paul of Central Valley, N.Y., Marion Banta of Glen Rock, Lisa DiMaggio and her husband John of Central Valley, N.Y., Chrystal Lozano of Montgomery, N.Y. and William Banta and his wife Pam of West Milford, her brother Robert Cella of Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. and her sister Michaela Cella of Reston, Va.

She was the proud grandmother of 20 and great-grandmother of 5.

To all those who loved her, she was "unforgettable."

Visitation and a funeral service were held at Seaman and Quackenbush Funeral Home, Highland Mills, N.Y. Intermentfollowed in Cemetery of The Highlands.
