Memorial service for Stephen Schaubhut, Sr.

    WEST MILFORD — A memorial service to honor the life of Stephen Charles Schaubhut Sr. will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Schaubhut, a 33-year resident West Milford, died on May 11, 2012 at the age of 70.

    Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Sonny's Restaurant, 57 Mouquis Trail, Oak Ridge (off Berkshire Valley Road) from noon to 3 p.m.

    Born in Providence, R.I., Mr. Schaubhut lived in West Orange before moving to West Milford 33 years ago. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1965 with a bachelor of science degree in botany. He was a technical sales representative for Avaya-Lucent, Basking Ridge, before retiring. Also, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Schaubhut was a volunteer fireman with the Macopin Fire Company, West Milford, as well.

    Mr. Schaubhut is survived by his wife, the former Rose Carolyn Tarantino; his son, Stephen, of Bristow, Va.; his daughters, Lora Breen of Oak Ridge, and Deborah McBride of Budd Lake; his brother, R. Gordon, of Glen Rock; his sister, Margo Sonandres, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

    He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Margaret; and his sister, Judyth Smith.
