Morris R. Guthrie, the beloved husband of Evelyn, nee Peppe, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014. He was 95.
Born in St. Elmo, Ill., the son of Albert and Ottie (Evans), he lived many years in Glen Rock and Long Beach Island before moving to West Milford two years ago. An Army Air Force veteran of World War II, Morris was a technician at Bendix Aviation, Teterboro before retiring.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a son, Randall Guthrie of Mahwah, daughters Judith Sofio of North Carolina and Marlene Terhune of West Milford, a twin sister, Doris Jones of St. Elmo, Ill., eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be held on Tuesday, April 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, with a funeral service at 5:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
