    Norman Lynn Sanders Jr.passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the age of 68. Having battled his illness with an upbeat attitude and unwavering optimism, Norm passed peacefully at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.

    Born in Pompton Plains, he lived in West Milford for over 20 years. Norman attended NJIT and was president and CEO of A.S. Barlin Assoc. Inc, an automatic fire sprinkler company. A charter member of the A.F.S.A., he served as vice chairman of the North Jersey Chapter.

    Norman is survived by his loving wife Saundra, his mother Grace Mather, his son Jeffrey and his wife Michele of Budd Lake, his son Jason and his wife Stephanie of Ridgewood, a brother Edward Mather of Littleton, Colo., and a brother Albert Mather of Rockaway Township, stepchildren Marcus Von Schirach, Heidi Hunt and Jarrod Von Schirach, and his seven granddaughters and one grandson, who brought him immense joy.

    Norman's life will be celebrated privately by his family and loved ones.

    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, NJ 07480 from 11 a.m. to 1p.m.

    In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Norman's memory to the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750 Philadelphia, PA 19104.
