Pilar Roettger of Tuxedo, loving mother of four, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at the age of 90.

Born in Cuba to Luis and Josefina Valdes, she lived there until her sense of adventure brought her to New York City.

Pilar lived in Havana, Cuba, New York City and Union City, N.J., before moving to Ringwood, N.J., in 1972 to raise her children and later moved to Tuxedo, N.Y., with her daughter.

Pilar received her Registered Nursing degree from Bergen Community College and worked as a nurse for 25 years.

She was a devoted parishioner of St. Catherine of Bologna Catholic Parish.

The only thing Pilar loved more than dancing, which she did until she was 90, was her family.

She will be deeply missed by her children: Pilar Santianna of Ringwood, N.J., Elizabeth Nebiker and her husband Scott of Tuxedo, N.Y., William Roettger and his wife Julia of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Jessica Einreinhof, her husband Michael of Ringwood, N.J.; and her grandchildren: Sebastian, Paulina, Branden, Samantha, William, Gabrielle, Ryan, Evan and Owen.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
