Raymond Walter Finn

    Raymond Walter Finn of Covington, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 at The Vitas Hospice in Stockbridge, Georgia. He was 69.

    Ray was born in the family home in West Milford. He attended West Milford Township High School and was a member of the West Milford Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the United States Army for six years in both Korea and Germany.

    Ray moved from New Jersey to Conyers, Georgia in 1977 and worked at several car dealerships in the Atlanta area. He retired from Ginn Motors and became caretaker for his wife's parents. He loved cooking and donated his time to the Newton County Homeless Shelter and many church functions.

    He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kay Finn, daughter Lindsay Finn von Broembsen of Savannah, Georgia and her husband, and granddaughter, Norah. He is also survived by his mother, Jessie Edna Cahill Finn of West Milford, four brothers, James of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Roger of Matawan, Clyde of West Milford, and Edward of West Milford, and a sister Joyce Finn Roller of Butler, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and greatnephews. He is pre-deceased by his father James Horace Finn, Sr.

    A memorial service will be held at the West Milford Presbyterian Church, 1452 Union Valley Road, West Milford, on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m.

    In lieu of flowers, donations to West Milford Presbyterian Food Pantry would be appreciated.
