    Richard McDavit passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012. He was 86.

    Born in Newark the son of John Wilson and Martha Ann (Stevens) McDavit, he lived most of his adult life in West Milford moving to Paramus a year and a half ago. Mr. McDavit was an Army Veteran of World War II and was a member of the West Milford VFW. Before retiring, he was a supervisor for Jersey Central Power & Light, Riverdale.

    Surviving are his son Gregory John McDavit of Virginia, his sister Margurite M. Nafey of Ashland, Wisc., and his nephew Howard Tremper of Newton. He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife Shirley, nee Tremper, in 2006.

    A viewing will be held on Monday, June 25, from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Interment to follow in Fairmount Cemetery, 247 County Road 517, Tewksbury.
