Robert A. Weiss of West Milford passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017. He was 73.
Beloved husband of Irene (Fulton) Weiss, and son of the late Leonard and Margaret (Brunner) Weiss, he was a strong union member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 15, in New York City, employed as a diesel mechanic and HAZMAT Instructor.
Robert was also a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Parish in West Milford for 47 years, actively involved in the carnivals, food pantry, teaching baptism preparation classes, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
In addition to his wife, surviving are sons Christopher T. and his wife Terri of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, Craig T. and his wife Alaina of Wantage, Casey T. and his wife Lori of Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania, Chuck T. and his significant other Ann Marie Araujo of Glenwood; daughters Coleen T. Magasic and her husband Mark of West Milford, Cindy T. Snyder and her husband Scott of Oak Ridge, Cathryn T. Connors and her husband Joseph of West Milford and Courtney T. Chromeck and her husband Daniel of Oak Ridge; brother Joseph Weiss of Cliffside Park; grandchildren Jesse, Christopher Jr., Emily, Timothy, Robert, Jessica and her husband John Keegan, Johnathan, Rebecca, Ryan, Jacqueline and Patrick and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brother and sister-in-law Leonard and Phyllis Weiss, sister and brother-in-law Catherine and William Marvin and sister-in-law Barbara Weiss.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 454 Germantown Road, West Milford. Disposition will be private.
