Robert Bryan Wundrack, who was known as Robbie, died in the state of Florida on Sunday, Sept. 10. He was 41.
He was the son of Ulrike Wundrack (nee Burckhardt) and the late Robert Joseph Wundrack
Robbie passed unexpectedly from natural causes while assisting in the Hurricane Irma relief efforts.
Born in Pompton Plains, N.J., Robbie was a lifelong resident of West Milford. He always had a love of the outdoors and “Tonka Toys” so upon graduation from West Milford High School in 1995 he followed his passion working with heavy equipment, eventually opening W&W Contracting and Excavating in 2001. Always looking to provide the best for his family, he chose to follow another path and joined JBL Electric as a fleet and heavy equipment mechanic in 2016.
Robbie’s first love was always his family. His “girls” as he called them, wife Jodi and daughters Jasmine and Brianna were his pride and joy. Best times were always with family and friends, bonfires and BBQ’s, watching the Giants or Nascar, playing horseshoes at the Elks, riding quads and dirtbikes, hunting and target practicing with friends and daughters Jasmine and Brianna, cheering Brianna and Jasmine on at soccer or basketball and camping “upstate” and recently a new found joy watching The World of Outlaws Sprint car racing
Robbie was always ready to lend a hand whether family, friend or stranger. He and his brother Mark cleared roads of trees and debris in the aftermath of Sandy and numerous other storms. He volunteered at the West Milford Elks Lodge 2236 and especially enjoying cooking for the game dinners long before becoming an official member, helped with construction projects outside of the business, and strongly believing in the barter system between friends and sometimes strangers!
Robbie had a strong love for his country and the meaning of freedom. He was a firm believer in morals, honesty and doing the “right” thing. While everyone close to him could attest to his strong beliefs, they also knew his compassionate side, gift of gab and wonderful smile.
Robbie was the beloved husband of Jodi, (nee Hochstadter) and cherished father of Jasmine and Brianna. He was the dearly loved son of Ulrike (nee Burckhardt) Wundrack Lippner and step- father Daniel Lippner and beloved “big” brother to Mark Wundrack. He will leave an irreplaceable void.
Robbie will be greatly missed by parent-in-laws, Gail and William Hochstadter, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Stacy and Brian Eckhardt and Randi and Michael Slamiak. His adoring nieces, Brooke and Mikayla Slamiak and nephew Cody Eckhardt.
Robert was pre-deceased by his father, Robert Joseph Wundrack in 1989 and grandparents, “Opa” Wendelin Burckhardt, 2004 and grandmother, “Oma” Dorothea Burckhardt, 1994.
Services were held Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home in Newfoundland.
