Robert J. La Starza

    Robert J. "Bob" La Starza, a 12-year resident of Honesdale, Pa., passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012. He was 80. Born in Bronx, N.Y., he was the middle son of Joseph and Teresa (Maselli) La Starza. Bob owned La Starza Dry Cleaning then, an electrician, he opened Star Electric Company, both in West Milford. Later he became a member of IBEW Local #102, Parsippany, retiring in 2000. Bob was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A hunter and avid fisherman, he also enjoyed antique army jeep restoration and custom woodworking. Bob started a family tradition of making wine, which will be carried on by his sons and grandsons. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Cecelia (Pulis) La Starza, three sons, Robert J. Jr. and wife Tammy of Hawley, Pa., David and his girlfriend, Lesa McGuinness of Newton, and Michael of West Milford, five grandchildren: Jennifer (La Starza) Greco, Robert, Joseph, Emily and David La Starza, two great-grandchildren, Enzo and Penelope Greco, and his dog and loyal companion, Missy. He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Joseph and Jerry La Starza. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford.
