Roger Paul Levendusky, 81, of Vernon died peacefully in Vernon Twp. surrounded by family on Jan. 23, 2013.
Born to Michael and Anna Levendusky in Palmerton, Penn. where he was raised before living in Passaic County and then moving to Vernon Twp., 38 years ago.
Levendusky served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War and then received his Masters Degree and became an Industrial Arts Instructor at Wayne Junior High School for two years and then worked at Lakeland Regional High School in Wanaque for 29 years before retiring in 1987.
Levendusky was a licensed pilot and served as President of the Warwick Pilots Association and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He volunteered at Warwick and Sussex Airports. Levendusky was a parishioner of St. Francis deSales RC Church in Vernon and a member of the NJEA, NEA, Lakeland Teachers Association and the Industrial Arts Association.
He was also a past member of the Butler and Franklin American Legion Posts. He loved spending time with family, flying his private plane, hunting and working on cars and motorcycles.
Levendusky was predeceased by a brother, Richard Levendusky (2000) and is the beloved husband for 39 years of Patricia Levendusky (nee Minarick) of Vernon Twp. Devoted father of Timothy Levendusky and his wife, Angie of Oklahoma City, Okla., Bruce Levendusky and his wife, Kim of Butler, Lori Cornuaud of Waxahachie, Tex. and David Levendusky of West Milford. Step father of Cynthia Findley of Wantage Twp.. Dear brother of Ronald Levendusky and his wife, Mary of Palmerton, Penn. and Robert Levendusky of Waldorf, Md. Brother in law of Nancy Levendusky of Lancaster, Penn. Cherished by 10 grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon. Mass of Christian Burial followed at St. Francis deSales RC Church, Vernon, NJ. Cremation was private.
